October is Eye Health Month — World Sight Day Challenge

Celebrating Eye Health Month

For the month of October we draw particular focus on the importance of eye health in the overall scope of eye care.  Healthy eyes are essential in the maintenance of good vision over your lifetime.  In Ontario, access to excellent eye care is something many people take for granted.  Your local optometrist, including our staff doctors at Edinburgh Optometry Clinic, are eager and happy to examine your eyes for a general eye exam and eye health check-up.  If you have any questions about the health aspects of your eye exam, please ask away!

World Sight Day Challenge

We care about our patients and about protecting your vision; we are also concerned about people around the world who lack access to quality vision care.  Because of this, Edinburgh Optometry Clinic will participate in the World Sight Day Challenge during October.

The World Sight Day Challenge is a campaign coordinated by Optometry Giving Sight to raise funds for projects that provide vision care, local training and infrastructure support for people who are blind or vision impaired simply because they don’t have access to an eye exam and a pair of glasses. Children are especially vulnerable. Providing vision correction to a school-age child can literally transform their entire life.

Our practice will raise funds for the World Sight Day Challenge by collecting voluntary donations from our patients during the month of October.  Edinburgh Optometry Clinic will then MATCH THE TOTAL AMOUNT COLLECTED – so we can make a significant donation to this wonderful organization.

Please join us in helping to give sight to people in need by scheduling your next appointment during October or just come in to make a donation.
