Dr. Kyle Thiessen completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science in 2020 (in spite of a rather unhelpful pandemic). Prior to this he completed his Honours Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of Guelph in 2016, during which he fell in love with the city of Guelph. Over the course of his optometric training Dr. Thiessen developed a strong interest in ocular disease and was fortunate enough to get to study for 4 months at the Cherokee Health Clinic in Ochelata, Oklahoma, a clinic that cares for many patients with diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy. 4 years at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science successfully turned Dr. Thiessen into a passionate eye care provider, and he's always more than happy to answer any questions you have about your eye health, what causes your glasses prescription to change, or anything else you can think of that he might have answers to! Dr. Thiessen lives in Guelph with his cats and his partner Kate and enjoys playing and writing music, games, movies, and a good long fantasy novel.
